As more and more innovations across all industries are heavily based on software, the vast majority of relevant new developments can be traced down to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City. However, it can be challenging to cut through the clutter of innovations and separate the what from the chaff. How we do it

Our scouting process is based on an innovation funnel: In a kick-off meeting together with you we define the respective search areas. In a second step, we source innovations from a variety of sources: for example, online databases, analyst reports, conferences, events, startup pitches and our very own personal network. All these findings are synthesized in an innovation longlist. Based on this, we derive a shortlist with more detailed assessment criteria – for instance, the maturity level (received funding, company size, ) or the overall expected impact (e.g., revenue or cost saving potential, customer experience improvements). With this subset of innovations, you are well-informed and may choose to proceed either with further Deep Dive analyses or direct partnering activities.
